I hope you’ll join me for a Viniyoga class or two at Eye of Buddha in Hillcrest, California. All classes are intended to be accessible for all levels. Students connect to their breath and direct their attention internally, allowing their discernment of personal movement and behavioral patterns to develop and change. Whether you’re brand new to yoga or have been practicing diligently for years, the teachings of Viniyoga will inspire transformation in your body, mind and spirit.
My class schedule is as follows:
Starting November 1, 2016
Tuesday evenings 5:15 to 6:15: Relax and Restore Yoga
Move through a gentle, integrated asana sequence to release tension and anxiety, mobilize the joints, increase circulation and energy, and link your awareness to sensation and breath. When the body and mind are calmed, we’ll transition into a deeply relaxing guided visualization and meditation that will remind you of your power to cultivate peace and balance in your life. This class will nourish you.
Wednesday mornings 10:30 to 11:30: Slow, Strong Yoga
Move from your center and develop greater awareness of your structure, breath, patterns, asymmetries, strengths and weaknesses. You’ll discover the calming effect of focus and the power of discovering your habits of tension. Become witness to yourself and transform your experience of life. Careful asana sequences will strengthen your body. Intelligent pranayama will shift your energy and habits that no longer serve you. You’ll leave class re-acquainted with your joy, your clarity, your wisdom—your best self.
Thursday mornings 10:30 to 11:30: Healthy Spine, Healthy You Yoga
Explore a yoga practice to initiate or improve your self-care regimen to address long hours at the desk, in the car or under stress. Cultivate strength, balance, focus and flexibility as you develop confidence to attend to your structural, energetic and spiritual needs. Reconnect with your inner wisdom to remember how to share compassion toward yourself and those around you. We’ll move with the breath and learn to modify poses to suit our conditions.
Friday mornings 10:30 to 11:30: Meditative Yoga
This Friday morning class will prepare your body and mind for the stillness of meditation. We’ll move through carefully sequenced yoga asana intended to soothe your energy, connect you to breath, and establish the physical stamina to sit quietly. Chanting focuses your mind. Pranayama clears energetic blocks and illuminates habits of thought and behavior. Mediation recalls the timeless wisdom held safe in our spirit.
