One-on-One Yoga

I encourage all of my students to consider private yoga training at some point. One-on-one sessions provide the time and space for you to explore and personalize your yoga practice.

While a yoga class offers a lovely chance to form community, it’s important to remember that your yoga is about you. By working with your breath, your spine, your softness and strength, your yoga will become an adventure to find you. You’ll learn to follow your own lead and to recognize the sensibilities that got you here. You’ll learn how to best love yourself.

Private lessons offer an opportunity to:

  • recommit to a neglected practice;
  • help your healing process;
  • enhance your athletic performance;
  • examine and mitigate postural imbalances that contribute to pain or fatigue;
  • learn the principles of yoga philosophy, asana alignment or meditation; and
  • establish a personal sequence to build strength, flexibility and routine at home or on the road.

Working one-on-one may also be appropriate if you’ve been working through challenging emotional issues or chronic stress. The tools of yoga are ultimately intended to calm the mind from its ceaseless fluctuations. As a yoga therapist, I’ll share my understanding of yoga philosophy with you and help you develop a practice to inspire greater love and respect for your true self.

You know what’s right for you. You only have to find the courage to seek and the humility to find.
